After biting a four month delay bullet, Killing Floor 3 finally has a new release date
Tripwire has remerged to bring co-op shooter fans everywhere – many of whom have waited years for a sequel to Killing Floor 2 – some major news about the release date of Killing Floor 3. Now, you may remember that the game actually had a March 25 release date for a while, before Tripwire suddenly took it off the calendar without providing a new date.
The wording of the delay announcement made it sound like the game was being pushed back by several months, which turned out to be true.
Today, however, all speculation ends. Tripwire announced that Killing Floor 3 will now arrive July 24 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. This is a four-months delay, all told, which isn’t entirely unusual for any game.
The team says the extra time is being used to pour over feedback from the recent test, which had seemingly been negative enough to warrant the initial delay. So much of what players had criticised is being addressed, including general design, enemy behaviour, animations, and even UI elements.
Tripwire has actually been sharing its progress on the official forums, and though brief, the new footage does show significant progress over the closed beta. Following today’s announcement, pre-orders – including for the Deluxe and Elite Nightfall editions – have been brought back up on all platforms.

Killing Floor 3 was initially announced in the summer of 2023, but it wasn’t until sumer 2024 that we got our first look at gameplay. The futuristic setting of the sequel has been one of its most divisive aspects, and though it appears many of the gameplay criticisms have been addressed, it’s hard to say whether Tripwire’s choice of setting may have already turned off some players.
So far, at least, it doesn’t look like the game will be getting any public tests between now and July, but we’ll have to wait and see. Until then, it’s probably worth wishlisting Killing Floor 3 on Steam if you want to stay up to date with future developments.
